As a managing director, Darren Mooney is charged with building Sucherman’s advertising, AdTech and digital media practice, significantly expanding the firm’s capabilities and offerings in this growing arena. Darren brings to the firm a decade of search experience, with a focus at the intersection of marketing and technology.
Darren joined Sucherman from Talentfoot Executive Search, a boutique agency focused on digital marketing, sales, and technology. As an executive senior partner, Darren built the Media & Analytics Practice, led the firm in billings in 2020 and 2021, and was instrumental in scaling the firm’s revenue by 400% over three years. Supporting publicly traded ad agencies and PE-backed performance marketing agencies, Darren played a vital role in building out executive teams, as well as media, tech, and analytics functions. Prior to his time with Talentfoot, Darren spent seven years at The Washington Post, where he led searches for all executive-level positions and was responsible for global talent acquisition. During his time there, the company’s strategy shifted to global digital expansion and growth, requiring new Adtech, Sales, Marketing, and Analytics talent across the US, Europe and APAC.
An alumnus of Georgetown University, Darren holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management with a Strategic Human Capital Management concentration and a Certificate in Organizational Development and Change Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
