Our business was founded in 1987 by Stuart F. Sucherman. Mr. Sucherman currently advises a number of entertainment and telecommunications companies, including network and cable television, motion picture, major league sports, Internet and technology media enterprises such as NBC, Discovery Channel, BBC America, the New York Mets and the New York Jets. Mr. Sucherman formerly was the Executive Director of Media and Society Seminars at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. With Fred Friendly, he co-created, wrote and produced more than 100 hours of television programming on wide-ranging public policy issues for PBS.

Prior to his role at Columbia, Mr. Sucherman was a Vice President of Corporate Affairs at WNET/Thirteen, New York City; a Program Officer at the Ford Foundation; the Director of Business Affairs for the Public Television Broadcast Laboratory and Sesame Workshop; Assistant to the Director of Business Affairs at CBS News; and attorney at the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC).

He has lectured and taught courses on communications and telecommunications at various colleges and universities in the United States and abroad; is a contributing editor to the New York Times Encyclopedia of Television and has written articles for a number of publications, including Channels magazine, Newsday and The Washington Post. Mr. Sucherman is also on the Boards of the New York Mets and 92nd Street Y in New York City. Mr. Sucherman is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of California Law School at Berkley (BOALT).  Mr. Sucherman is a member of the California and New York State Bar Associations.
