NBCU Cable Entertainment Group Taps Key Execs
NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group has named Charles Kennedy exec veep of research and insights, and Liz Mahaffey exec v.p. of brand strategy. The pair will report to NBCU Cable Entertainment chairman Bonnie Hammer. Kennedy joins NBCU Cable from ABC, where he was senior veep of research. He will oversee primary, programming, ad sales and digital research for NBCU’s portfolio of cable nets, which includes E!, Style Network and Syfy.
NBCUniversal is beefing up its digital ad group, appointing Phil Cara and James Kreckler as senior vps, digital entertainment advertising sales, and Aaron Radin as senior vp, partnerships & portfolio products.
Dawn Taubin to Run Marketing at DreamWorks Animation
Jeffrey Katzenberg has tapped Dawn Taubin to run marketing at DreamWorks Animation, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The hire, which has been rumored in Hollywood since THR reported Wednesday that she was being considered, marks a return to a high-profile studio job for Taubin. As chief marketing officer, she will spearhead all marketing efforts for the company, including theatrical, television and global brand initiatives.
Skydance Prods. Appoints Dana Goldberg Chief Creative Officer
Dana Goldberg upped to chief creative officer of Skydance Productions. She will oversee all aspects of creative development for both TV and film at the shingle, though film will remain her primary emphasis. Goldberg previously served as prez of production. David Ellison, CEO of Skydance, stated, “Since her arrival at Skydance, Dana has proven herself to be an incredibly gifted and talented creative partner and friend. Studio Lambert USA Taps Greg Goldman as President
Studio Lambert USA has found itself a chief. Renegade 83’s Greg Goldman has been tapped as president of the Los Angeles-based studio, which not only adapts formats created by Stephen Lambert’s eponymous U.K. company but also creates and produces U.S. originals. In the new role, Goldman, who created and executive produced NBC’s Ready For Love and CW’s Capture, will create, sell and oversee original efforts as well as help bring those formats to the U.S. market.

Conde Nast Entertainment’s Michael Klein Takes Oversight Of Digital Channels
Conde Nast Entertainment‘s EVP of alternative programming Michael Klein is transitioning to a new role at the company. He has been named EVP, program and content strategy, digital channels, overseeing program development, production and content strategy for the Conde Nast-branded digital channels. Klein, who reports to CNE president Dawn Ostroff, replaces Robert Green, who will be leaving CNE after a seven-month stint.
Turner-Lee To Head Research Efforts For Minority Media and Telecommunications Council
Former National Association for Multi-Ethnicity In Communications (NAMIC) CEO Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee has joined the executive ranks of the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC), the civil rights advocacy organization announced Thursday. Turner-Lee will serve as vice president and chief research and policy officer for MMTC and will head a new research and policy arm “aimed at advancing national leadership on telecommunications issues,” said MMTC officials.

Musician and social media ace D.A. Wallach is joining the IZEA strategic advisory board, the social media marketing agency announced on Thursday. Despite Wallach’s clout in the music industry as one-half of the indie duo Chester French, IZEA tapped Wallach because of his influence in the social sphere. Wallach is the artist in residence at Spotify, where he bridges the gap between music and social media in an effort to draw in more artists.
